About me... I'm an intelligent and entrepreneurial-minded individual with a passion for working in the IT industry on web-based projects and systems administration. My diverse background brings me the strength and experience of being able to adapt to changing environments and technologies very quickly. I mainly specialize in data-driven web applications and systems administration. I am almost always free for freelance work, even at times when I am locally full-time employed.
To give a brief history of my career... I started out working with PC's at around the age of 14 back in 1991. By age 16 I was running a multi-node BBS system from home with two locally networked IBM DX2/66's that continued to evolve over the years. From a very early age I learned DOS programming, PC hardware installation and repairs, Windows administration, batch file programming, automating tasks, local area network concepts, BBS systems, wide area networking (mainly mail exchange systems) and Internet use. At age 19 I was starting my career as a Network Administrator for a local web-development firm called "Weblink Communications, Inc." (eventually becoming one of Tampa Bay's leading web-development firms- "Hydrogen Media"), learning desktop support, server administration, wide area networking concepts and routing, department budgets, hardware acquisition, and so on. By age 21 I was learning Windows application development, Active Server Pages (VBScript) and running a high-availability server cluster for a very active website department at an advertising company. By age 24, I was starting a position as a Lead Software Engineer, leading a team of graphic designers and junior developers, working on a wide range of web projects and desktop applications for a well-known local company "Eva-Tone, Inc". During 2002-2003 I was the Webmaster for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, performing Microsoft .NET development while supporting the Web Department and related websites during their SuperBowl win. I consider myself a seasoned web-developer with several years of lead experience, working on high-availability web applications and mission-critical applications. I have functioned successfully as a Network Administrator, Webmaster, Lead Software Engineer, and Consultant for several of Tampa Bay's top companies and organizations, and as a result, have many great references.
